I'm working on another original story ~gasp~ Two original stories started in one year! This is (seriously) a record for me.

It's about zombies. I am loving it much more than I was loving my erotic novel. I'm still keeping that one around; it's very possible I'll still finish it and try to publish it. But way too often I find myself NOT IN THE MOOD to write angst/smut/whatever.

So now I'm writing about high schoolers fighting zombies. OMG will I ever need a pen name if I try to publish both of these.

Getting a little bored at home. But at least my cats are settling in and not freaking out too much any more. They still don't like the dog (poor Coyote was SNEEZED on the other day by the dog!), but she's a big dog and they're little cats, so it's understandable.

Oh, found out something crazy about my mom yesterday: she has a crazy conspiracy theory that Japan wants to take over the United States. They're inundating us with their manga and anime and "so many" people are learning their language. And why would so many (white) Americans want to do that when Japan is such a racist country? They're going to destroy our economy and blackmail America into forcing us to accept waves of Japanese immigrants and they're going to take over the west coast.

MY MOTHER IS INSANE.

Going to see my grandparents today, then meeting with the officiant tomorrow, ordering bridesmaid dresses on Tuesday, LEAVING FOR NEW YORK ON WEDNESDAY. HOLY CRAP.
  • We crazy Asians already took over the west coast...AND Hawaii! Mwahahaha. *coughs* Sorry, I couldn't help myself. Does she think the Wii is also part of Japan's conspiracy to take over the US?
    • I wouldn't be surprised. Crafty Japanese trying to be all innovative! Are normal controllers too good for them?

On behalf of white people, I apologize for my mother's craziness. (She also thinks that democrats are as bad as communists. Maybe I should move to Japan just to completely scandalize the woman)
      • Hee! I <3 my Wii so much. If this is where the future is heading, then I for one welcome our new overlords. ;)

If you weren't already getting married, I'd say torture her say you were marrying a Japanese man. Since that can't work, tell her you'll adopt a Japanese baby and you'll brainwash from the inside or something. *nods sagely*

On the bright side, at least she wasn't ranting about China what with the Olympics going on?
        • My Wii is my best friend. Okay, slight exaggeration. But it's how I'm testing my wedding shoes for comfort - I slip on the shoes and play Pirates of the Caribbean or Guitar Hero. So far the shoes are comfortable.

Apparently she only has a problem with the Japanese. She hasn't been paying attention to the Olympics, but that's because my mom has a bit of a stubborn streak in her that likes to remain uninformed on various topics. And before I was born she was going to adopt a baby from Korea. Billy and I have actually talked about adopting a baby someday. We haven't said Japan specifically yet, but that could appear in a conversation sometime soon...
